About us….
I started On Point Archery after having enjoyed the sport of traditional archery, as well as the Trad community, for over a decade. I’ve been lucky enough to share this passion with my whole family. My wife Holt is a valuable part of the On Point Archery team, as our photographer, art director and general sounding board. While our two boys have shown a little interest in arrow building, for now they mainly just want to shoot their longbows.
Several years ago I switched to shooting wooden arrows after starting to compete in tournaments that required it. Though I started out unsure of how I’d like the switch from carbon to wood, it didn’t take me long at all to realize that I wouldn’t be switching back. I found that shooting wood does NOT mean you lose precision, and was amazed by how accurate a well tuned, straight, wooden arrow can be. Not only do my bows feel better shooting wooden arrows, but I also really enjoy shooting a shaft that was grown and then carefully crafted into a beautiful arrow right here in the US.
However, it’s important to remember that not all wooden arrows are alike, and there are some that will not give you the superior result you’re looking for. Every arrow that On Point Archery sells, I make as if I am making it for myself. I take meticulous care with each step in the process to make sure that every customer is satisfied with his or her arrows. If you purchase arrows from us and are not satisfied with them, please let me know and I will do what I can to set things right.
